Vanessa Craft

Director, Content Partnerships, TikTok (Canada)

(Previously) Editior-In-Chief, ELLE Canada

After nearly a decade at ELLE Canada (including the last 4 years as Editior-In-Chief), Vanessa Craft has just announced her move to anew opportunity as Director of Content Partnerships with TikTok (Canada) - the fastest growing social media platform in the world.

She's an award-winning journalist, editor and thought leader. During her time with ELLE, Vanessa fused the values and vision of a global fashion magazine with her passionate drive to empower women to live the life of their dreams. Her work centered around building engaging and ground-breaking content through the lens of inclusive and authentic aspiration.

Vanessa holds the historic position of being the first black editor-in-chief at any ELLE magazine around the world. Since her appointment in 2016, readership in both digital and print grew in double digits and she launched multiple initiatives to diversify the range of voices in the magazine.

A fixture at international runway shows, Vanessa has interviewed some of the biggest names in fashion and celebrity circles, including Marc Jacobs, Celine Dion, Christian Louboutin, Victoria Beckham, Zendaya, Gigi Hadid, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sandra Oh, Keira Knightley and Michael Kors. In 2019, she opened Michelle Obama’s Becoming show in Toronto and starred as a resident judge on fashion reality television show, Stitched on the Slice Network.

Her work history is proudly non-traditional and includes stints working at the BBC, The Sunday Times UK and Goldman Sachs. She is a novelist, proud dance mom, and she's ready to take on a new challenge in the tech industry!
